About Academic Council
The
Academic Council of Mili University is considered the highest academic
authority of the institution, where all academic and specialized matters originating
from departments, faculty councils, appointment and separation committees,
academic promotions, as well as the formulation of academic policies, plans,
and research guidelines are discussed, evaluated, and decided upon. This
council plays a fundamental role in guiding academic activities and ensuring
the academic quality of the university.
The
Academic Council is chaired by the University President. Its members include
the Vice President for Academic Affairs as the deputy of the council, the Head
of Faculty Affairs as the secretary, the Vice President for Administrative and
Financial Affairs, the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director of
Research and Scientific Journal, faculty deans, and two academically qualified
faculty members from each faculty.
Among
its key responsibilities are the development and formulation of academic and
research policies and submitting them to the relevant authorities (Ministry of
Higher Education/Board of Trustees), evaluation and approval of proposals
related to periodic review of academic programs, assessment of research plans
and providing necessary guidelines for their effective implementation, as well
as proposing the drafting or amendment of regulatory documents in light of
emerging academic developments and needs.
Furthermore,
the council holds the authority to make decisions and provide recommendations
regarding the establishment, expansion, merger, or dissolution of faculties,
departments, and academic programs. Proposing postgraduate programs and
specialized courses, enhancing academic capacity, reviewing and approving
appointments, separations, and retirements of academic staff, determining
academic ranks based on the standards of the Ministry of Higher Education, and
evaluating academic promotions are also among its major responsibilities.

of the Academic Council are formally recorded in official meeting registers
with protocol numbers and dates, organized accordingly, and communicated
